How to Attach a Clasp to a Cord Choker
Attaching a clasp to a cord choker is a simple process that can be done with a few tools and materials. Here are the steps to follow:
Materials: - Cord choker - Clasp (lobster, spring, or toggle) - Jump ring - Jewelry pliers (round-nose and flat-nose)
Steps:
1. Take the cord choker and cut it to the desired length. Make sure to leave enough extra cord on both ends to attach the clasp and jump ring.
2. Take one end of the cord and fold it in half to create a loop.
3. Thread the loop through the jump ring, then pass the loose ends of the cord through the loop and pull tight.
4. Take one end of the cord and slide it through the ring of the clasp.
5. Fold the cord end back over itself and use the pliers to crimp it down tightly onto itself. This will secure the cord end to the clasp.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 with the other end of the cord and the other half of the clasp.
7. Your cord choker is now ready to wear. To put it on, simply open the clasp and slide it around your neck, then close the clasp to secure it in place.
Note: If you are using a toggle clasp, you will only need one jump ring. Simply attach the jump ring to one end of the cord and the loop of the toggle clasp to the other end of the cord.
