How to Add Sunlight in Photoshop

Adding sunlight to a photo in Photoshop can help enhance the mood and make the image appear more vibrant. Here are the steps to add sunlight in Photoshop:

Step 1: Open the Image Open the image you want to add sunlight to in Photoshop.

Step 2: Create a New Layer Create a new layer by clicking on the "New Layer" button at the bottom of the Layers panel or by using the shortcut "Ctrl + Shift + N" (Windows) or "Cmd + Shift + N" (Mac).

Step 3: Select the Brush Tool Select the Brush Tool from the toolbar on the left side of the screen or by using the shortcut "B". Make sure the color of the brush is set to white.

Step 4: Paint the Sunlight Paint the sunlight onto the new layer by clicking and dragging the brush where you want the sunlight to appear. Use a soft-edged brush to create a more realistic effect.

Step 5: Adjust the Layer Blend Mode Adjust the blend mode of the new layer to "Screen" in the Layers panel. This will make the white color of the brush appear transparent, allowing the original image to show through.

Step 6: Adjust the Opacity and Color Adjust the opacity of the new layer to your desired level of brightness. You can also adjust the color of the sunlight by using the Hue/Saturation tool in the Adjustments panel.

Step 7: Add Shadows To make the sunlight effect more realistic, add shadows to objects in the image where the sunlight would naturally create shadows. Use the Burn Tool to darken areas of the image where the sunlight would not reach.

Step 8: Save Your Image Once you are satisfied with the sunlight effect, save your image by clicking on "File" > "Save As" and choosing your desired file format.
