How to Acquire Bézier Curves Using Excel
Bézier curves are a popular tool in computer graphics and design that allow for smooth, curved lines to be created. While there are specialized software applications that are designed to create Bézier curves, it is also possible to create them using Microsoft Excel. Here are the steps to acquire Bézier curves using Excel:
1. Open Microsoft Excel and create a new workbook. 2. In cell A1, type "X" and in cell B1, type "Y". 3. In cells A2 and B2, enter the starting point of your curve. This will be the first control point. 4. In cells A3 and B3, enter the ending point of your curve. This will be the second control point. 5. In cell A4, enter "=A2+(A3-A2)/3" and in cell B4, enter "=B2+(B3-B2)/3". This will be the first point on the curve. 6. In cell A5, enter "=A2+2*(A3-A2)/3" and in cell B5, enter "=B2+2*(B3-B2)/3". This will be the second point on the curve. 7. In cell A6, enter "=A3" and in cell B6, enter "=B3". This will be the final point on the curve. 8. Select cells A4:B6 and click on the "Insert" tab in the ribbon at the top of Excel. 9. Click on the "Line" chart option and choose the type of line chart that you prefer.
You should now have a Bézier curve plotted on your Excel worksheet. You can adjust the position of the control points in cells A2:B3 to modify the shape of the curve.
