How to Be Careful with Fire (for Kids)

Fire can be very dangerous, but it can also be very useful when we use it safely and responsibly. Here are some tips for kids on how to be careful with fire:

1. Never play with matches or lighters. They are not toys and can start a fire very quickly.

2. Always ask an adult for help when you need to use fire, such as lighting a candle or starting a campfire.

3. Never leave a lit candle, stove, or fireplace unattended. Always make sure an adult is watching it.

4. Keep flammable items away from fire. This includes things like paper, clothing, and curtains.

5. Learn how to stop, drop, and roll. If your clothes ever catch on fire, this is what you should do. Stop where you are, drop to the ground, and roll back and forth until the fire is out.

6. Make sure smoke alarms are installed in your home and that they are working properly. If you hear a smoke alarm, leave the house immediately and tell an adult.

7. If you see a fire, tell an adult right away. Don't try to put it out yourself.

Remember, fire can be dangerous, but by following these tips and being careful, you can use it safely and responsibly.
