How to Apply Shoulder Injury Compression Wraps

From freem

Shoulder injury compression wraps can be an effective way to reduce swelling and pain in the shoulder area. Here are some steps on how to apply them:

1. Start by finding a compression wrap that fits comfortably around your shoulder. Make sure it is snug but not too tight, as you don't want to cut off circulation to your arm.

2. Begin by wrapping the compression wrap around your upper arm, just above your elbow. Wrap the wrap around your arm in a spiral motion, making sure to overlap each layer slightly.

3. Once you have wrapped your arm a few times, begin to wrap the wrap around your shoulder. You want to wrap it around the front of your shoulder and then bring it around to the back of your shoulder.

4. Continue wrapping the compression wrap around your shoulder, making sure to overlap each layer slightly. You want to make sure that the wrap is snug but not too tight.

5. Once you have wrapped the shoulder area a few times, bring the wrap back down to your upper arm. Continue to wrap the wrap around your arm in a spiral motion, making sure to overlap each layer slightly.

6. Keep wrapping until you have covered the entire shoulder area, from just above your elbow to your shoulder.

7. Finally, secure the end of the wrap with the attached Velcro or clip. Make sure it is tight enough to hold the wrap in place, but not so tight that it cuts off circulation.

Remember to adjust the compression wrap as needed throughout the day to ensure that it stays in place and continues to provide the desired level of compression. Additionally, if you experience any discomfort or pain while wearing the wrap, remove it immediately and consult a healthcare professional.
