How to Animate a Simple Animation in Toon Boom Studio

From freem

To animate a simple animation in Toon Boom Studio, follow these steps:

1. Create a new project by clicking on "File" and selecting "New" from the dropdown menu. Choose the resolution and frame rate for your project.

2. Create a new scene by clicking on "Scene" and selecting "New" from the dropdown menu. Name your scene and choose the duration.

3. Draw your character or object in the "Drawing" or "Vector" mode. You can use the drawing tools provided in Toon Boom Studio or import images or vectors from other programs.

4. Once you have your character or object, create a new layer for each part that you want to animate. For example, you might create a layer for the head, a layer for the body, and a layer for each arm and leg.

5. Using the "Animate" mode, create a new keyframe for each layer at the beginning of the animation. This will be your starting point.

6. Move to a later point in the timeline and adjust the position, rotation, and scale of each layer to create your desired movement. You can use the onion skinning feature to see the previous and next frames and ensure smooth animation.

7. Repeat this process, adding keyframes and adjusting the position, rotation, and scale of each layer, until you have completed your animation.

8. Once you are satisfied with your animation, you can export it as a movie or image sequence. Click on "File" and select "Export Movie" or "Export Image Sequence" from the dropdown menu. Choose your desired format and settings, and click "Export".

9. Save your project by clicking on "File" and selecting "Save" or "Save As" from the dropdown menu.

Congratulations, you have successfully created a simple animation in Toon Boom Studio!
