How to Bake a Two Layer Cake
Baking a two-layer cake is a fun and delicious way to impress your friends and family. Here are the steps to bake a two-layer cake:
Ingredients: - 2 cups all-purpose flour - 2 teaspoons baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon salt - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened - 1 cup granulated sugar - 2 large eggs - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - 1 cup milk
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and prepare two 9-inch (23cm) round cake pans by greasing them with butter or cooking spray and lining the bottoms with parchment paper.
2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a separate large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
4. Add the eggs to the butter-sugar mixture one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter-sugar mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until well combined.
6. Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans.
7. Bake the cakes for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of each cake comes out clean.
8. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 5-10 minutes.
9. Carefully run a knife around the edge of each cake and then invert them onto wire racks to cool completely.
10. Once the cakes are completely cooled, you can frost and decorate them as desired.
Enjoy your delicious two-layer cake!
