How to Bake Italian Meatballs
Italian meatballs are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed on their own, with pasta, or as a sandwich filling. Here's a recipe for baking Italian meatballs:
Ingredients: - 1 pound ground beef (85% lean) - 1/2 cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs - 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese - 2 cloves garlic, minced - 1/4 cup milk - 1 egg - 1 teaspoon salt - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper - 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, milk, egg, salt, pepper, and chopped parsley. Use your hands to mix everything together until well combined.
3. Shape the mixture into balls that are about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. You should end up with about 20-24 meatballs.
4. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
5. Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature of the meatballs has reached 160°F (71°C).
6. Remove the meatballs from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
Optional: You can serve the meatballs with your favorite pasta sauce, or use them to make a sandwich with melted cheese and a soft roll. Enjoy!
