How to Bake Fish
Baking fish is a healthy and delicious way to prepare seafood. Here are the steps to bake fish:
Ingredients: - Fish fillets (such as salmon, cod, tilapia, or halibut) - Salt and pepper - Olive oil or melted butter - Lemon wedges (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly coat with cooking spray.
3. Rinse the fish fillets and pat them dry with a paper towel.
4. Season the fish with salt and pepper on both sides.
5. Place the fish in the baking dish. If the fillets have skin, place them skin-side down.
6. Drizzle olive oil or melted butter over the fish.
7. Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fish. The fish should be opaque and flake easily with a fork when done.
8. Remove the fish from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
9. Serve the fish with lemon wedges, if desired.
Tips:
- For extra flavor, you can add herbs or spices such as garlic, dill, or paprika to the fish before baking. - To prevent the fish from sticking to the baking dish, you can also place it on a bed of sliced onions or lemon slices. - Avoid overcooking the fish, as it can become dry and tough. - You can also check the internal temperature of the fish using a meat thermometer. The fish is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
