How to Bake Salmon

From freem

Baking salmon is a healthy and delicious way to prepare this popular fish. Here's a simple guide on how to bake salmon:

Ingredients: - 4 salmon fillets, about 6 ounces each - Salt and pepper - 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter - Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season them with salt and pepper to taste. Brush each fillet with olive oil or melted butter.

3. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin side down.

4. Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until it is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the fillets.

5. Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve with lemon wedges.

Tips:

- To add some flavor to your salmon, you can marinate it in your favorite marinade for a few hours before baking.

- You can also add some herbs, such as dill or parsley, to the salmon before baking for extra flavor.

- Make sure to remove any pin bones from the salmon fillets before baking. You can use a pair of tweezers or pliers to do this.

- If you prefer crispy skin on your salmon, you can broil it for the last 2-3 minutes of baking.

- To check if the salmon is cooked through, insert a fork into the thickest part of the fillet. If it flakes easily and is opaque throughout, it is done.
