How to Apply Crepe Hair

From freem

Crepe hair is a type of synthetic hair used for creating realistic-looking facial hair, such as beards, mustaches, and eyebrows, for costumes or theatrical performances. Here are the steps to apply crepe hair:

1. Choose the right color and length of crepe hair: You should select the color and length of crepe hair that matches the hair color and length of the character you are trying to portray.

2. Cut the crepe hair into the desired length: Use scissors to cut the crepe hair into the length that you need for your desired facial hair style.

3. Apply spirit gum: Use a small brush to apply spirit gum to the area where you want to attach the crepe hair. Spirit gum is a type of adhesive that is specifically designed for use on the skin. Apply a thin layer of spirit gum and allow it to dry for a few seconds until it becomes tacky.

4. Apply the crepe hair: Take a small section of crepe hair and roll it between your fingers to create a small ball. Press the ball onto the area with the spirit gum, starting at the center and working your way outward. Use your fingers to press the crepe hair into place and ensure that it sticks to the spirit gum.

5. Repeat the process: Continue to apply the crepe hair in small sections until you have achieved the desired facial hair style. Make sure to apply the crepe hair in the same direction as the hair growth.

6. Trim and style the crepe hair: Once you have applied all of the crepe hair, use scissors to trim and shape the facial hair to your desired style.

7. Apply makeup: Use makeup to blend the crepe hair into your skin and create a more natural look. Use a small brush to apply makeup that matches your skin tone over the crepe hair.

8. Remove the crepe hair: To remove the crepe hair, use a small amount of spirit gum remover or rubbing alcohol to dissolve the spirit gum. Gently pull the crepe hair off of your skin, starting at one end and working your way outward.
