Gooseberry pie is a delicious and tangy dessert that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Follow these simple steps to bake a gooseberry pie at home: Ingredients: - 2 cups of gooseberries (fresh or frozen) - 1 cup of sugar - 1/4 cup of flour - 1/4 teaspoon of salt - 2 tablespoons of butter - 1 tablespoon of lemon juice - 2 pie crusts (homemade or store-bought) - 1 egg Instructions: 1. Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). 2. Rinse the gooseberries and remove the stems and tails. If using frozen gooseberries, let them thaw before use. 3. In a mixing bowl, combine the gooseberries, sugar, flour, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well. 4. Roll out one of the pie crusts and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Trim the edges if needed. 5. Pour the gooseberry mixture into the pie crust. 6. Cut the butter into small pieces and sprinkle them over the top of the gooseberry mixture. 7. Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the top of the gooseberry mixture. Seal the edges by crimping them with a fork or your fingers. 8. Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush the top of the pie crust with it. Cut a few small slits in the top of the pie crust to allow steam to escape. 9. Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. 10. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 30 minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious homemade gooseberry pie!
