Adding friends on Venmo is easy and straightforward. Here's how you can add friends on Venmo on your iPhone or iPad:

1. Launch the Venmo app on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Sign in to your Venmo account using your email address, phone number, or Venmo username.
3. Once you're signed in, tap on the "☰" icon located in the upper-left corner of the screen.
4. In the menu that appears, tap on the "Friends" option.
5. On the "Friends" screen, tap on the "Add Friend" button located in the upper-right corner of the screen.
6. You can now search for friends by their username, phone number, email address, or by scanning their Venmo code. To search by username, phone number, or email address, simply enter the information in the search bar and tap on the search button. To scan a Venmo code, tap on the "Scan Code" button and point your camera at the code.
7. Once you find your friend, tap on their name to view their profile.
8. On their profile screen, tap on the "Add Friend" button located under their profile picture.
9. A confirmation message will appear asking if you want to add this person as a friend. Tap on "Add Friend" to confirm.

That's it! Your friend will now receive a notification that you've added them on Venmo, and they can choose to accept or decline your request. Once they accept, you'll be able to send and receive payments with them on Venmo.
