You can add an autonumber to Excel by using the "Fill" feature or by using a formula. Here are the steps: Method 1: Using the Fill feature 1. Enter the starting number in a cell (e.g., 1). 2. Select the cell and drag the fill handle (the small square in the bottom-right corner of the cell) down to the last row you want to number. 3. The numbers will be filled in automatically. Method 2: Using a formula 1. Enter the starting number in a cell (e.g., 1). 2. In the cell below the starting number, enter the formula "=A1+1" (assuming the starting number is in cell A1). 3. Select the cell with the formula and drag the fill handle down to the last row you want to number. 4. The numbers will be filled in automatically based on the formula. Note: If you need to start the autonumber at a different value (e.g., 100), you can enter that value instead of 1 in step 1 and adjust the formula accordingly in step 2.
