==== What Epstein is doing in this exchange ==== He is correcting Paul Krassner’s description of a public accusation, not making a confession about the act itself. The highlighted parts look explosive, but the structure of the conversation shows what is happening: ===== 1. Krassner’s original phrasing ===== Krassner wrote: : "the allegation was not at a pedophile party, it was at my house with me." Krassner appears to be paraphrasing the public allegation in a way that Epstein thinks is inaccurate. ===== 2. Epstein’s reply ===== Epstein responds: : "i was pointing out that that alleged rape was reported to be at my house with donald and I raping her." This is Epstein saying: No, the way it was reported is this… Meaning: he is describing how the allegation appeared in the lawsuit and in media/Internet discourse, not making statements about what actually happened. Nothing in his message signals he is discussing factual truth. He is arguing about what Krassner wrote, not about the underlying act. ===== 3. Why it reads so strange ===== Epstein consistently wrote emails in a loose, unpunctuated, shorthand style. Here, he is doing two things in one sentence: * referring to the allegation * correcting Krassner’s summary of how it was reported He is not denying nor admitting any piece. He is saying: “The allegation, as publicly described, said the rape happened at my house and involved both Donald and me.” It is a meta-comment about wording, not a personal account.
