=== This is one of those SCP problems where “moderate morality” is like trying to eat soup with a rake. === It’s not impossible, it’s just… yeah, you’re gonna make a mess. Let’s break the idea into what’s feasible in the SCP world: ==== ### ==== You do not use a living person. If anything, you’d use: * holographic projections * synthetic constructs * non-conscious simulacra * non-living “targets” with facsimile cognition (basically puppets that look alive but aren’t) This dodges the “we’re sacrificing someone every cycle” issue. ==== You need something that: ==== * can’t die * doesn’t suffer * isn’t sapient * can’t be morally harmed * can endure infinite punishment without experiencing it Basically a rubber wall made of plot armor. In SCP terms: * SCP-148 composites * regenerating masses with no nervous system * antimemetic decoys * non-sapient temporal anchors * artificial “eternal decoy entity” built solely to be a target This lets 096 loop itself without moral atrocity. ==== You want: ==== * infinite chase * zero exit * perfect isolation * infinite time dilation or stasis * layered reality insulation You’re basically building a padded room in spacetime and letting 096 run in circles forever. ==== Here's the twist: ==== You’re not trying to evolve 096 (that’s ethically and existentially catastrophic). You’re trying to trap 096 in its own rule, like boxing a Roomba with duct tape and letting it bump a wall until the heat death of the universe. The “evolution” becomes a side effect — not a directed project. This is the only remotely moral version. Anything else turns into a war crime flavored physics experiment.
