Use this method when the person you want to add as a friend is nearby with their 3DS:

1. In the Friend List, tap "Register Friend" at the top of the screen
2. Select "Local"
3. Both systems need to choose the Local option
4. Tap on the desired friend card when it appears on-screen
5. Once the friend information is exchanged, tap Close to return to the HOME Menu[6].
