== What Does It Mean to Be Born Again? == Being born again refers to a spiritual rebirth that occurs when a person accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. It involves a profound transformation of one's heart, mind, and spirit. The concept comes from Jesus' words in John 3:3, where He tells Nicodemus, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."1<ref name="ref4">4</ref> Key aspects of being born again include: 1. Spiritual renewal: A transformation of one's inner self, where a person's heart and spirit are renewed by the Holy Spirit.[9] 2. Forgiveness of sins: Through this process, Christians believe their sins are forgiven and they are reconciled with God.[9] 3. New life: It marks the start of a new life in Christ, where old ways of thinking and living pass away and a new way of living in accordance with God's will emerges.[9] 4. Eternal life: Being born again is associated with the promise of eternal life in God's kingdom.[9]
