To add friends on Wii U, you can follow these steps:

1. Turn on your Wii U console and go to the Wii U Menu.

2. Select the "Friend List" icon, which is represented by a smiley face.

3. In the Friend List, select "Add Friend" at the top of the screen.

4. You will have two options to add friends: "Search for Users You Know" or "Send Friend Requests."

5. If you choose "Search for Users You Know," you can search for your friends by entering their Nintendo Network ID or email address.
