Here is a recipe for a classic Queens Cake that you can bake at home: Ingredients: - 1 cup of butter, softened - 1 and 1/2 cups of granulated sugar - 4 eggs - 2 cups of all-purpose flour - 1 teaspoon of baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon of salt - 1/2 cup of milk - 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract - 1/2 cup of chopped candied fruit (optional) - 1/4 cup of chopped nuts (optional) Instructions: 1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C). Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) cake pan with butter or cooking spray. 2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. 3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. 4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. 5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk and vanilla extract. Mix well after each addition. 6. Fold in the candied fruit and nuts (if using) into the batter. 7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. 8. Bake the cake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. 9.
