Blueberry pie is a classic dessert that is loved by many. Here is a simple recipe on how to bake a blueberry pie: Ingredients: - 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour - 1 teaspoon of salt - 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar - 1 cup of unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces - ¼ to ½ cup of ice water - 6 cups of fresh blueberries, rinsed and dried - 1 tablespoon of lemon juice - ½ cup of granulated sugar - ¼ cup of cornstarch - ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon - ¼ teaspoon of salt - 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, cut into small pieces - 1 large egg, beaten Instructions: 1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and sugar. 2. Add the cold butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse sand with some pea-sized pieces of butter. 3. Drizzle ¼ cup of ice water over the flour mixture and use a fork or your hands to mix until the dough just comes together. Add more ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, as needed to bring the dough together. Divide the dough into 2 equal parts and shape each part into a disk. Wrap each disk with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. 4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). 5. In a large mixing bowl, gently toss together the blueberries, lemon juice, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt. 6. Roll out one of the chilled pie dough disks on a lightly floured surface until it is about 12 inches in diameter. Carefully transfer the dough to a 9-inch pie dish and trim the edges. 7. Pour the blueberry filling into the pie dish and scatter the small pieces of butter over the top. 8. Roll out the second chilled pie dough disk on a lightly floured surface until it is about 12 inches in diameter. Cut the dough into strips and arrange them in a lattice pattern over the blueberry filling. 9. Brush the beaten egg over the top of the pie crust. 10. Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. If the crust is browning too quickly, cover the pie with aluminum foil. 11. Allow the pie to cool completely before serving. Enjoy your delicious homemade blueberry pie!
