Arm knitting is a popular technique for making cozy blankets quickly and easily. Here are the steps to arm knit a blanket: Materials: - Super bulky weight yarn (approximately 1000 yards) - Your arms Instructions: 1. Choose your yarn. Super bulky weight yarn works best for arm knitting a blanket. You'll need approximately 1000 yards of yarn for a throw-sized blanket. 2. Make a slipknot. Hold the end of the yarn in your right hand and create a loop by crossing the working end of the yarn over itself. Pull the end of the yarn through the loop to create a slipknot. 3. Cast on stitches. Place the slipknot on your right arm and slide it up to your elbow. Hold the working end of the yarn in your left hand and drape it over your left arm. Reach through the loop on your right arm and grab the working end of the yarn. Pull it through the loop to create a new loop on your right arm. Slip your left hand into this new loop and tighten the stitch. Repeat this process until you have cast on the desired number of stitches (for a throw-sized blanket, cast on approximately 18-20 stitches). 4. Knit the first row. With the stitches on your right arm, take the working end of the yarn and loop it through the first stitch on your left arm, then pull it through the stitch on your right arm. Repeat this process for each stitch until you reach the end of the row. 5. Knit subsequent rows. For each subsequent row, repeat step 4 until your blanket is the desired length. To check the length of your blanket, lay it on a flat surface and measure from one end to the other. 6. Bind off. When you've reached the desired length, it's time to bind off. Knit two stitches onto your right arm, then take the first stitch and pass it over the second stitch and off your arm. Knit one more stitch onto your right arm, then repeat the process of passing the first stitch over the second stitch and off your arm. Continue this process until you have bound off all the stitches. 7. Weave in the ends. Use a yarn needle to weave in the ends of the yarn to secure them. Your arm-knitted blanket is now complete! Enjoy the warmth and coziness of your new creation.
