Sweet potato pie is a delicious dessert that is popular in many parts of the world, especially during the holiday season. Here is a simple recipe for baking a sweet potato pie: Ingredients: - 1 Β½ cups mashed sweet potatoes - 1 cup white sugar - Β½ cup butter, softened - 2 eggs, beaten - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - Β½ cup evaporated milk - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon salt - 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust Instructions: 1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2. Pierce your sweet potatoes several times with a fork and place them on a baking sheet. Bake the sweet potatoes in the oven until they are soft, which should take around 1 hour. Remove the sweet potatoes from the oven and let them cool. 3. Once the sweet potatoes are cool, peel off the skin and mash them in a bowl. You should have around 1 1/2 cups of mashed sweet potatoes. 4. In a separate bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until they are smooth. 5. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, evaporated milk, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt to the sugar and butter mixture. Mix everything together until it is smooth. 6. Add the mashed sweet potatoes to the mixture and stir until everything is well combined. 7. Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie crust. 8. Bake the pie in the preheated oven for around 55 minutes, or until the center of the pie is set. 9. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. 10. Enjoy your delicious sweet potato pie! Note: You can add your own spin to this recipe by adding other spices, such as ginger or allspice, or by using different types of crusts, such as graham cracker or pecan.
