To add or subtract functions, you simply add or subtract their values for each input. For example, let's say we have two functions, f(x) and g(x): f(x) = 2x + 3 g(x) = x - 1 To add these functions, we simply add their values for each input: (f + g)(x) = f(x) + g(x) = (2x + 3) + (x - 1) = 3x + 2 So (f + g)(x) is a new function that represents the sum of f(x) and g(x). To subtract functions, we do the same thing, but with subtraction instead of addition: (f - g)(x) = f(x) - g(x) = (2x + 3) - (x - 1) = x + 4 So (f - g)(x) is a new function that represents the difference between f(x) and g(x). In general, to add or subtract functions, we simply perform the corresponding operation on their values for each input.
