To add a symbol in Illustrator, you can follow these simple steps: 1. Open Adobe Illustrator and create a new document or open an existing one. 2. Go to the Symbols panel by clicking on "Window" in the menu bar and selecting "Symbols." 3. Choose a symbol set by clicking on the drop-down menu at the top of the Symbols panel. You can choose from default sets or create your own by clicking on the "New Symbol Set" icon at the bottom of the panel. 4. Click on the "New Symbol" icon at the bottom of the Symbols panel to create a new symbol. 5. Choose the type of symbol you want to create from the options in the New Symbol dialog box. You can create a graphic symbol, a movie clip symbol, or a button symbol. 6. Create your symbol using the drawing tools in Illustrator. Once you're done, click "OK" to save the symbol to the panel. 7. To use the symbol in your artwork, simply drag and drop it from the Symbols panel onto your artboard. That's it! You have now successfully added a symbol in Illustrator.
