iChat is an instant messaging application developed by Apple. It is a part of the macOS operating system and is used for sending text messages, video calls, and file sharing. Adding a new contact to iChat is a simple process, and this is how you can do it: 1. Open iChat on your Mac computer. You can find it in the Applications folder or by using Spotlight search. 2. Click on the "File" menu in the iChat menu bar and select "Add Buddy" from the dropdown list. Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut "Command + N." 3. A new window will appear where you can enter the contact's details. In the "Account" field, select the instant messaging service that the person uses, such as AIM, Google Talk, or Jabber. If you're not sure which service they use, you can ask them. 4. In the "Screen Name" field, enter the person's username or email address that they use for their instant messaging account. You can also add a nickname or a display name in the "Nickname" field. 5. You can choose to add the person to an existing group of contacts by selecting the group from the "Group" dropdown menu. If you don't want to add them to a specific group, you can leave this field blank. 6. Click the "Add" button to save the contact. The person will now appear in your iChat buddy list. That's it! You have successfully added a new contact to iChat. You can now start chatting with them by selecting their name from your buddy list and clicking on the "Chat" button.
