Adding eyes to soft toys can bring them to life and make them look more adorable. Here are some steps to follow: 1. Choose the type of eyes you want to use: There are several options available such as safety eyes, plastic eyes, embroidered eyes, button eyes, or hand-painted eyes. Safety eyes are usually the safest and easiest to use, as they come with a backing that securely fastens them to the fabric. 2. Position the eyes: Decide where you want the eyes to be on the toy, and mark the spot with a fabric pen or tailor's chalk. 3. Make the holes: Using a sharp pair of scissors, carefully cut two small holes where you marked the spot for the eyes. The holes should be just big enough to fit the eye post through. 4. Insert the eyes: Insert the eye posts through the holes from the outside of the toy. Once they are through, attach the backings to secure them in place. 5. Add eyelids or eyelashes (optional): If you want to add eyelids or eyelashes, you can use embroidery thread or felt to create them. 6. Repeat the process for the second eye: Repeat steps 2-5 to add the second eye to the other side of the toy. 7. Finish up: Once both eyes are securely in place, you can finish up any remaining sewing or stuffing of the toy. Remember to always supervise young children when playing with toys with small parts, and avoid using anything that could be a choking hazard.
